In Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, magic acquisition is distinct from previous titles. Instead of learning spells through experience, you must "draw" them directly from enemies or designated "draw-points" scattered throughout the world. This system emphasizes strategic engagement with the environment and combat encounters to build your magical arsenal. Understanding where and how to draw specific spells is crucial for effective gameplay.

A notable draw point for Dispel can be found in the Deep Sea Research Center. When you reach the depths and your party splits up, you can either talk to party members to spot a terminal or search the bottom left of the screen to find it. This terminal initiates a steam puzzle that leads to the lower levels, where the Dispel draw point is located.

When preparing for challenging encounters, ensure at least one character has the Draw command. Other useful commands include Revive and Recover, and having Magic and Item commands ready for healing is always a good idea.
