GF Abilities & Learning System
Guardian Forces (GFs) are indispensable allies in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, providing powerful offensive summons and crucial support abilities. The game's unique learning system allows GFs to gain experience and learn a wide array of abilities, which can then be Junctioned to characters to enhance their stats and grant passive benefits. Mastering this system is key to optimizing your party.
Each GF in Final Fantasy VIII possesses its own set of learnable abilities, categorized into Support, Combat, and Magic abilities. GFs gain experience points by participating in battles, and as they level up, they unlock new abilities. You can then use Ability Points (AP) to learn these abilities. The true power of GFs lies in their Support abilities, which can be Junctioned to characters. Abilities like HP +80%, Auto-Haste, and Auto-Protect provide sificant passive bonuses that can drastically alter a character's effectiveness in combat. Deciding which abilities to learn and which to Junction to which character is a core strategic element of the game.
