Save points in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered are crucial for managing progress, especially in challenging areas like the Deep Sea Research Center. After fighting Bahamut, a save point becomes available in that room. You can also climb down a hole to reach lower levels, where another save point is located.

To avoid random encounters while exploring, equip the Enc-None ability. If you want to mitigate XP gain, keep LV Down handy. Bringing Zell along can make an upcoming puzzle more forgiving and offer alternative solutions. In the depths, a Dispel draw point can be found. You can either talk to party members to find a terminal under rubble or search the bottom left of the screen for it to start a steam puzzle.
