Mission: Den of Woe
The Den of Woe is one of Final Fantasy X-2's most challenging and lore-rich optional dungeons, becoming accessible exclusively in Chapter 5. This perilous location, shrouded in mystery and teeming with formidable fiends, offers significant plot revelations regarding the origins of Vegnagun and the tragic history of the summoners. Successfully navigating its depths requires meticulous preparation, strategic combat, and keen observation.
Accessing the Den of Woe
To unlock the Den of Woe mission, you must first complete the "Cactus Commando" mission in the Bikanel Desert during Chapter 5. After rescuing all 10 cactuars, talk to Marnela in the Cactuar Nation. She will inform you of a strange occurrence near the Cactuar Nation's entrance. Return to the Bikanel Desert and head towards the large sand pit where you previously fought the Jumbo Cactuar. A new, glowing portal will have appeared. Interacting with this portal will transport you to the Den of Woe.

Unlike many other areas, there are no puzzles in the traditional sense; the challenge lies purely in survival and combat. Be prepared for a gauntlet of battles with unique and powerful enemies.
