Welcome, sphere hunters! This comprehensive guide will help you track down some of Spira's most valuable and elusive items. Whether you're looking for powerful accessories, rare Dresspheres, or essential key items, we've got you covered. Remember, many items are missable or only available during specific chapters, so pay close attention to the details!
Chapter 1: Besaid Island
- Potion x3: Upon landing on Besaid, head directly north from the beach. These are in a chest near the path leading to the village.
- Hi-Potion: Inside the Besaid Village temple, check the small alcove to the right of the main entrance.
- Ether: After the initial mission, speak to Wakka in his house. He'll give it to you as a thank-you.
- Garment Grid: "Unerring Path": Successfully complete the "Besaid Island" mission with a perfect score (no monsters escaping). This is a crucial early-game Garment Grid for increasing accuracy.
Chapter 1: Kilika Island
- Phoenix Down x2: In Kilika Port, check the crates near the docks where the airship lands.
- Antidote x5: Climb the large tree in Kilika Woods. There's a chest on one of the lower branches.
- Power Wrist: After defeating the boss in Kilika Temple, return to the main chamber. It's in a chest behind the altar.
- Dressphere: Gunner: Automatically obtained by Yuna at the start of the game, but worth mentioning for completeness.
Chapter 2: Luca
- Star Curtain: In Luca Stadium, explore the locker rooms on the ground floor. It's in a chest in the leftmost room.
- Lunar Curtain: After the Blitzball tournament, speak to the Sphere Break player near the entrance to the stadium stands. He'll give it to you if you win a game against him.
- HP Sphere: During the "Search for the Missing Hypello" mission, check the hidden alleyways behind the main square. It's in a chest tucked away.
Chapter 3: Mi'ihen Highroad
- Mega-Potion: Along the northern section of the Highroad, near the travel agency, look for a small path leading off to the east. Follow it to a chest.
- Dispel Tonic: Complete the "Chocobo Escort" mission successfully. The reward is given by the Chocobo Knight.
- Garment Grid: "Healing Wind": Found in a chest near the old travel agency ruins. You'll need to navigate some tricky ledges to reach it.
Chapter 5: Mushroom Rock Road
This area becomes accessible and offers new items after certain story events. revisit it!
- Defense Bracer: After the Youth League vs. New Yevon conflict, search the battle-scarred areas near the entrance to the Den of Woe.
- Ribbon: This highly valuable accessory is a rare drop from the optional boss, Paragon, found deep within the Den of Woe. Prepare for a tough fight!
- Alchemist Dressphere: Complete the "Mushroom Rock Road" episode with 100% completion. This involves finding all the hidden spheres and completing all mini-games in the area.
General Tips for Item Hunting:
- Talk to Everyone: NPCs often provide hints about hidden items or even give them to you directly.
- Check Every Corner: Many chests and hidden items are tucked away in seemingly insignificant areas. Use the mini-map to spot unexplored sections.
- Revisit Locations: As the story progresses, new items may appear in previously visited areas, especially after completing specific missions.
- Use the "Scan" Ability: If you have the Gunner Dressphere equipped, its "Scan" ability can sometimes reveal hidden items or chests on the mini-map.
- Chocobo Digging: utilize your Chocobos! They can dig up rare items in various locations across Spira. Their digging spots often reset between chapters.
