Boss battles in Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster require careful planning and understanding of enemy weaknesses. This section provides strategies for various bosses, focusing on elemental vulnerabilities, status effects, and optimal party member usage. Preparing with the right items and character abilities can significantly ease challenging encounters.
For a specific boss, Lulu should cast Fire to exploit its weak point. Wakka is effective due to the boss's susceptibility to Darkness, with Dark Attack removing its physical attack threat. Auron can use Power Break to reduce physical damage. Once Blinded and Broken, switch to Yuna and summon Valefor to use Fire, as Valefor's Fire is likely stronger and can utilize Overdrive.
When approaching the main HQ for the Operation, go northeast for a scene, then east to a Save Sphere. O'aka will be there, offering a shop. This shop is better than the one at the start of Mushroom Rock for items like HP +5%. This particular boss fight does not involve ailments or elements other than Thunder, so specific Wards or SOS abilities might not be necessary unless for other reasons.
After a scene, you will have 6 minutes to reach the mountain top. Collect the Mega Phoenix from a chest by running northeast. Head back slightly and go up the fallen pillar, but not the second one. Drop down a level and jump across a gap; Logos will send enemies. Go into the hole in the wall, then run, climb, and jump to the next screen (north side). Jump across again and head out. Run around the ring where Ormi will send enemies. Take them out, cross the log, and jump when prompted. Climb a few steps, then run around the path to collect the Star Pendant before jumping to the next tower. Climb until you see the Leblanc Syndicate scene. Use the save point before heading up to the top to open the chest by Leblanc for the Muscle Belt. Equip it to a physical attacker before heading up the stairs for a boss fight.
