Luca is a significant location for progression and rewards, particularly through its Blitzball and Sphere Break activities. Winning the Sphere Break Tournament is key to obtaining the Lady Luck DS. Additionally, several valuable items and abilities can be acquired by interacting with NPCs and participating in mini-games.

  • Chapter 1 Luca Progression: +1.6% (Total So Far: 8.2%).
    • Mission Complete.
    • Speak With Rin: In the Blitzball Locker Room to receive an Al Bhed Primer.
    • Hand out 10 balloons: Rewards the Healing Wind GG.
    • Thunder Spawn GG: Found in a chest on Dock 5.
  • Later Chapter Luca Progression: +0.8% (Total So Far: 46.4%).
    • Win Sphere Break Tournament: Reward is the Lady Luck DS.
    • White Signet and Treasure Hunt GG: Can be won as items when playing against Pet and Shinra in Sphere Break.
    • Treasure Hunt GG: In Chapter 3, during the final match of the Sphere Break tournament, use a blue coin with the "Item" extra to obtain this. This grants the Mug ability, a physical attack that steals items and awards AP.
  • Final Preparations in Luca: Before proceeding, consider buying Spheres, finishing any remaining Sphere Break or Blitzball activities, and beating Major Numerous and Creature Create (INT/HD Only).
