Side Quests & Optional Content (FFX)

Complete FFX side quests to earn rewards like the Selene Guard GG and Heart Reborn GG, and learn powerful Blue Bullets like White Wind.

In Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster, side quests and optional content contribute to your total story percentage. Completing specific tasks, like catching a Chocobo or listening to Yuna's memories, can unlock rewards such as Garment Grids and important items. Some missions have time-sensitive elements, so planning is essential to maximize your progress and avoid missing content.

Mi'ihen Highroad

  • Story Percentage: +0.2% (Total So Far: 8.4%)
  • Listen to Yuna's Memories of the Highroad.
  • Speak to the female Al Bhed at the southern end of the highroad (part of Rin's Mystery side quest).
  • Complete any treasure hunting/PR mission stuff BEFORE speaking to Calli, as certain parts of the Mi'ihen get blocked off afterwards.
  • Mission: Catch A Chocobo And Save Calli Within The Time Limit.
  • Speak to Clasko and Calli and let them and the Chocobo board the Airship.
  • After defeating the Chocobo Eater, you gain a Selene Guard GG.
  • After completing the mission, enter the agency and witness Rin walking out the door (part of Rin's Mystery side quest).
  • Treasures: An Ether can be found on the North side of the Oldroad. Steal an X-Potion from Chocobo Eater.

Zanarkand Ruins

  • Story Percentage: +1.8% (Total So Far: 23.4%)
  • Inside the Dome, speak to Cid and choose "You Bet I Do!".
  • White Wind can be learned from Ms. Goon.
  • Mission Complete.
  • Treasures: A Mega Phoenix can be found near where Seymour's illusion was in FFX. There's an Ether and an Elixir in the Chamber of the Fayth.
  • Answering, "Is that you Issaru?" will gain you the Heart Reborn GG.

Besaid Island

  • Story Percentage: +2.2% (Total So Far: 21.6%)
  • Mission Complete.
  • Blaster and White Wind BB can be learned from Coeurl.
  • After defeating Flame Dragon, you will obtain The White Mage DS.
  • Speaking to Wakka after the fight will get you the Besaid Sphere and Protection Halo GG.
  • Do not speak to the merchant about the "rare finds" if you wish to purchase the Besaid key (it can be obtained for free later in CH3: Calm Lands). It will help you find the Raging Giant GG.

Kilika Island

  • Story Percentage: +1.6% (Total So Far: 25.2%)
  • Go to Dona's House and speak with her.
  • Mission Complete.
  • Saying the proper passwords will get you an Ether, Turbo Ether and Menace of the Deep GG.
  • In the forest, if you head to the east side of the map near two green trees, you can prompt to jump using circle. Waiting for you there is a Megalixir.
  • You can start the squatter monkeys sidequest now if you like. It leads to the Chaos Maelstrom GG in CH3.
