Optional Areas & Side Quests (FFX-2)

To begin the PR Mission, use the square button around Spira to publicize the company. Aim for a level 5 publicity rating before finishing the game. In Luca, after a scene, you'll receive 10 balloons to give away. Talk to everyone in the area, including the two people behind the glass, to earn the Healing Wind Garment Grid. For 100% completion, return to Luca and speak to Rin in the Blitzball Locker rooms to get another Al Bhed Primer.

In the Mi'ihen Highroad, a mission begins after a scene. Head up the mountain next to the save sphere and choose to remember the person who speaks to you. Descend the mountain to the left and go towards the old blitz dome. Inside, follow the kids and remember the one who talks to you. A goon will give you the clue "mon" and attack. Climb the ledge, descend the other side for a Mega Phoenix. Defeat the goon standing north, then head east for a Phoenix Down. Defeat another group of Goons and proceed north to the next area.

At the Cloister of Trials, go to the second half and use the lift to the Chamber of the Faith. Save your game. Talk to Cid and select "You bet I do" for more percentage. After he finishes, speak to the chubby guy to clear the path. In the great hall, collect an Elixir, Phoenix Down, Hi-Potion, Remedy x2, Remedy, and Ether from chests. Head north through the door. After a scene, when a voice asks questions, reply "Is that you Isaaru?" to receive the Heart Reborn Garment Grid. Save your game before proceeding down the north stairs to face a boss.

Mi'ihen Highroad Notes:

  • Complete any treasure hunting/PR mission tasks before speaking to Calli, as parts of Mi'ihen become blocked.
  • Catch a Chocobo and save Calli within the time limit.
  • Speak to Clasko and Calli, then allow them and the Chocobo to board the airship.
  • Defeating the Chocobo Eater grants a Selene Guard GG.
  • After the mission, enter the agency to see Rin, part of Rin's Mystery side quest.
  • An Ether is on the North side of the Oldroad.
  • Steal an X-Potion from the Chocobo Eater.
  • Listen to Yuna's memories of the Highroad.
  • Speak to the female Al Bhed at the southern end of the highroad (part of Rin's Mystery).

Mushroom Rock Road Notes:

  • Speak with Yaibal.
  • Speak with Clasko at the entrance.
  • At the Den of Woe, encounter Ormi and Logos, then speak with Maroda.
  • Complete the mission.
  • Speak to Clasko again and allow him to come onboard.
  • At Youth League Headquarters, speak with Lucil twice.
  • At Youth League Headquarters, speak with Maechen without interrupting and shake his hand.
  • Return to the airship and watch Sphere 'Crimson Report 1'.
  • Speak to Clasko in the cabin.
  • Receive Crimson Sphere 9 from Ormi and Logos in the Den of Woe.
  • Speak to Elma to complete the mission and collect the Heart of Flame GG.
  • The hidden ledge on the east side of the YLHQ holds the Restless Sleep GG.
  • A Turbo Ether is on your left as you enter the gorge.
