Live Trigger Events
Live Trigger Events are interactive dialogue choices that appear throughout your journey in Final Fantasy XIII-2. These events often present humorous or insightful options, allowing you to shape character interactions and sometimes even earn valuable rewards. While the "funny" options are usually self-evident, this guide will help you pinpoint exactly when and where these opportunities arise, ensuring you don't miss a single one.
New Bodhum (003 AF) - Initial Visit
During your very first visit to New Bodhum, several Live Trigger Events become available as you progress through the introductory sequence. Pay close attention to your surroundings and character interactions.
- Serah Opens the Door: The first Live Trigger occurs almost immediately upon gaining control of Serah. As she opens the door to her house, a prompt will appear.
- After Serah Leaves NORA House: Once Serah steps outside the NORA house, another Live Trigger will be available.
- On the Way to the Meteorite: As you make your way towards the meteorite crash site, a series of Live Triggers will pop up when interacting with specific characters. It's crucial to engage with them at the right moment.
- Before Mog Clock Tutorial: Speak to Noel before the game introduces you to the Mog Clock tutorial.
- After Mog Clock Tutorial (Noel): Speak to Noel again after the Mog Clock tutorial has concluded.
- Gadot: Approach and speak with Gadot.
- Yuj: Locate and speak with Yuj.
- Maqui: Find and speak with Maqui.
New Bodhum (003 AF) - Next Day
After the initial events of New Bodhum conclude and you transition to the "next day" in the timeline, a few more Live Triggers become accessible before you depart for your adventure.
- Lebreau: Seek out Lebreau and initiate a conversation with her.
- Noel on the Beach: Before you obtain an important item (which will be detailed in the main walkthrough), speak with Noel while he is on the beach.
General Tips for Live Trigger Events
- Listen Carefully: Many Live Triggers are preceded by specific dialogue or character actions. Paying attention to the narrative will often clue you in.
- Explore Thoroughly: Don't rush through areas. Live Triggers often appear when you interact with NPCs or objects that might seem insignificant at first glance.
- Save Frequently: If you're aiming to experience all dialogue options or are unsure about a choice, save your game before initiating a Live Trigger. This allows you to reload and try different responses.
- No Right or Wrong Answers (Mostly): While some Live Triggers offer "funny" or "serious" responses, there's rarely a truly "wrong" answer that will negatively impact your game progression. The choices primarily serve to add flavor and character development.
- Rewards: Some Live Triggers, particularly later in the game, can reward you with items, Gil, or even small stat bonuses. Keep an eye out for these opportunities!
