Hunt Marks are a popular endgame activity in Final Fantasy XIV that allows players to earn valuable rewards by tracking down and defeating powerful B rank and S rank monsters across various zones. These hunts provide a dynamic way to engage with the open world, offering a mix of challenge and lucrative rewards for those who participate.

The Hunt system is divided into two main types of marks: B Rank Hunts and S Rank Hunts. B Rank marks are more common and generally easier to defeat, offering a steady stream of rewards. S Rank marks, on the other hand, are rare spawns that appear on specific timers and require a coordinated group of players to take down, yielding sificantly greater rewards.

To participate in Hunts, players must first unlock the Hunt system by completing a specific quest. This usually involves speaking with an NPC in one of the major city-states, such as Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, or Ul'dah, and accepting the introductory quest for the respective Grand Company's Hunt. Once unlocked, You can access Hunt Boards in various hubs.

Here's how the Hunt system generally works:

• Hunt Boards: Located in major cities and other hubs, these boards display available B Rank marks and their locations. S Rank marks are not typically listed on these boards but are often announced by the community.
• B Rank Hunts: You can accept B Rank marks from the Hunt Board. These monsters are usually found in specific areas within zones and can be defeated solo or in small groups. Upon defeating a B Rank mark, players receive experience, Gil, and Hunt Seals.
• S Rank Hunts: S Rank marks are special, rare spawns that appear on a timer. Their appearance is often announced by the community through various in-game chat channels or external tools. Defeating an S Rank mark requires a large group of players and rewards participants with sificant amounts of Gil, experience, and valuable Tomestones, as well as special currencies like Nuts (for Shadowbringers) or Scrips (for Endwalker).
• Rewards: Hunt Seals can be exchanged for various items, including crafting materials, gear, and even unique mounts. The currencies earned from S Rank hunts are crucial for acquiring endgame gear and other valuable items.

Participating in Hunts is an excellent way to supplement your income, acquire endgame gear, and engage with the wider player base. The thrill of coordinating with dozens of other players to take down a powerful S Rank monster is a unique and rewarding experience.
