Mastering the Eikon abilities is key to dominating combat in Final Fantasy XVI. Experimenting with different combinations will unlock devastating synergies that can turn the tide of any battle. While many abilities can be used effectively on their own, combining their effects can lead to sificantly higher damage output and better crowd control.

For instance, Phoenix's Heatwave (Square x3) can launch enemies into the air, setting them up perfectly for Garuda's Rising Claws (Square x3) or Gouge (Triangle). This aerial combo deals substantial damage and keeps enemies airborne, preventing them from retaliating.

Shiva's abilities are excellent for controlling the battlefield. Using Diamond Dust (Triangle) can freeze multiple enemies, allowing you to follow up with powerful single-target attacks from Clive or other Eikons. Alternatively, Mesmerize (Square x2) can stagger enemies, creating an opening for a devastating Limit Break or a charged attack.

Ifrit's abilities, particularly those focused on raw power and aggression, can be paired with abilities that draw enemies together. For example, using a skill that groups enemies, followed by Ifrit's ition (Triangle), can result in massive area-of-effect damage.

Remember to consider the cooldowns of your abilities. A well-timed combo that utilizes multiple Eikons in quick succession, even with their individual cooldowns, can be far more effective than spamming a single powerful move. Pay attention to the Stagger gauge of tougher enemies; abilities that deal high stagger damage, like Titan's Thumb of God, are crucial for creating openings for critical hits.

The key is to understand the properties of each ability: which ones launch, which ones stun, which ones deal high damage, and which ones control groups. By weaving these together, you'll become a true force to be reckoned with.
