Olivia: The Shy Dancer
Olivia, the timid dancer from the kingdom of Ferox, joins the Shepherds as a recruitable character in Chapter 4, "The Halidom of Rechik." Her personal skill, Graceful Dance, allows her to perform a dance for an adjacent ally, granting them an additional action. This makes Olivia an invaluable support unit, capable of extending the reach and offensive potential of your most powerful fighters. Despite her initial shyness and low combat stats, Olivia's ability to grant extra turns is a game-changing mechanic.
As a Dancer, Olivia starts at level 1 with very low base stats across the board, particularly in Strength, Magic, Defense, and HP. Her primary strengths lie in her Speed and Luck. Her role is not to engage in direct combat but to strategically position herself to dance for units that can deal significant damage or achieve critical objectives. prioritize keeping Olivia safe, often by having her dance for units like Chrom or Robin, who can then eliminate threats or reach distant objectives. Her starting inventory is typically empty, emphasizing her non-combat role. However, she does possess the Dance command, which is her sole purpose on the battlefield.
Olivia's growth rates are generally low, but she has decent potential in Speed and Luck. This makes her a viable candidate for re-classing into a Troubadour or a Pegasus Knight if players choose to use a Second Seal on her. A Troubadour allows her to use Staves for healing, adding a layer of support utility, while a Pegasus Knight grants her flight and access to lances, making her more mobile and capable of engaging in limited combat. However, her most impactful role remains as a Dancer, and many players opt to keep her in this class throughout the game.
Olivia's support conversations are a journey of her overcoming her shyness and building confidence. Her potential marriage options are numerous, and her children can inherit unique skills. For example, marrying Olivia to a unit with access to the Fighter class can result in her son, Inigo, inheriting the Berserker class, which provides immense physical power and critical hit potential. When deploying Olivia, consider her positioning carefully. She is most effective when placed adjacent to your strongest offensive units, allowing them to take an extra turn to defeat enemies or secure objectives. Her ability to grant an extra action to a unit with the Galeforce skill can lead to devastating chain attacks, clearing entire waves of enemies in a single player phase.
