Ryoma (Chapter 10)
Chapter 10, "The Heart of Hoshido," pits you against Prince Ryoma, a legendary warrior and a formidable boss. Ryoma wields the Raijinto, a powerful sword with exceptional reach and damage output. This encounter is a true test of your army's strength and your tactical acumen. Ryoma's high Speed and Skill stats mean he can often double-attack and land critical hits, making him a significant threat to even your most well-defended units. His Raijinto also possesses the "Wind God" ability, which can deal additional damage. When approaching Ryoma, it's crucial to have units with high defense and resistance. Benny and Effie are excellent candidates for tanking his hits, provided they are sufficiently leveled. Alternatively, units with high evasion, such as Kaze or Azura, might be able to dodge his attacks, but this is a riskier strategy. The map itself often features chokepoints or advantageous terrain that can be exploited. Consider using units with long-range attacks, such as archers like Niles or mages like Odin, to chip away at Ryoma's HP from a safe distance. However, be mindful of his high movement range, which allows him to close the distance quickly. Pair-up is essential here. Pairing a strong defensive unit with a powerful offensive unit can create a potent offensive-defensive powerhouse capable of withstanding Ryoma's onslaught and dealing significant damage in return. For instance, pairing Xander with Silas can create a nearly impenetrable front line. If you have access to any **Brave Weapons**, such as a Brave Lance or Brave Sword, this is an excellent chapter to utilize them, as they allow for follow-up attacks, significantly increasing your damage output. Be aware of any special abilities Ryoma might have, such as his innate crit bonus. Carefully assess your units' damage output against Ryoma's defenses before committing to an attack. A well-timed use of a stat-boosting tonic, like a Defense Tonic or Speed Tonic, can also be the deciding factor in surviving a critical blow or landing the finishing one. Prioritize eliminating any surrounding Hoshidan guards before focusing solely on Ryoma to minimize incoming damage.
