Leo Build Guide
Leo, the youngest Prince of Nohr and wielder of the potent Tome, Brynhildr, is a formidable magic-user in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest. His high Magic and Resistance stats make him an excellent choice for dealing with enemy mages and for chipping away at heavily armored units. His personal skill, Nobility, grants him a +4 bonus to all stats when his HP is full, making him particularly dangerous at the start of engagements. When building Leo, the primary focus should be on maximizing his Magic and Resistance, allowing him to deal devastating magical damage and withstand magical attacks. His natural aptitude for magic makes him a key player in overcoming many of Conquest's challenging encounters.
For optimal performance, consider promoting Leo to a Dark Knight or a Strategist. The Dark Knight class offers increased Magic and Resistance, along with access to Tomes and Staves, making him capable of both offensive and supportive roles. The Strategist class, on the other hand, grants access to Tomes and Bows, allowing him to engage enemies from a distance and providing an alternative offensive option. If you have access to the Miracle skill from a Priestess, it can significantly enhance his survivability by giving him a chance to survive a lethal blow. Pairing Leo with units that can provide defensive buffs or draw enemy aggression is a wise strategy. Units like Xander, who can act as a physical tank, or Effie, who has high Defense, can help protect Leo from physical threats. His sature weapon, Brynhildr, is a powerful unique Tome with 14 Might and 90 Hit, which also has a chance to inflict the "Silence" status effect, preventing enemies from using magic. This makes it incredibly useful against enemy mages. However, consider equipping him with other high-Magic Tomes like the Bolting or the Fire Tome as well, especially if Brynhildr is being used by another unit or if you need a weapon with different properties. Leo's primary weakness lies in his Defense, making him vulnerable to strong physical attackers. Therefore, positioning him carefully and ensuring he is protected by other units is crucial. When facing maps with numerous enemy mages or heavily armored units, Leo's magical prowess and high Resistance can be the key to victory. His ability to inflict Silence with Brynhildr can neutralize dangerous enemy mages, turning the tide of battle.
His high Resistance stat also makes him an excellent unit for baiting out enemy magical attacks, allowing your other units to remain safe. The Strategist promotion, in particular, grants him access to Bows, which can be useful for picking off weakened enemies or for engaging flying units that might otherwise be a threat. The Dark Knight promotion, with its access to Staves, allows him to provide crucial healing and support to his allies, further increasing his utility. Leo's versatility as both a powerful offensive magic-user and a supportive unit makes him an invaluable asset to any army in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest.
