Kaze (Ninja)
Kaze, a loyal retainer to the Hoshidan royal family and a key ally in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, serves as a valuable unit with his swift movement and potent offensive capabilities. As a Ninja, Kaze excels at striking from the shadows and inflicting status effects with his Shuriken. His personal skill, "Mirage Strike," allows him to deal an additional 3 damage when initiating an attack, making him a potent offensive threat from the early game onwards. Kaze's innate ability to use Shuriken grants him the advantage against mounted units and fliers, a crucial element in many of Conquest's challenging maps. His base stats lean towards Speed and Skill, ensuring he can double-attack many enemies and land critical hits reliably. When considering his promotion, Kaze can become either a Master Ninja or a Silent Shadow. The Master Ninja path further enhances his offensive prowess with access to stronger Shuriken and the ability to use Tomes, while the Silent Shadow path focuses on evasion and critical hits, making him even harder to pin down. His support options are also noteworthy, with potential pairings that can bolster his already impressive combat stats. For instance, pairing him with a unit that provides defensive buffs can allow him to take more risks on the battlefield. be mindful of his lower defense, making him vulnerable to strong physical attackers if caught out of position. Utilizing terrain to his advantage, such as forests which grant evasion bonuses, is paramount to his survival. Kaze's utility extends beyond direct combat; his ability to debuff enemies with poison or sleep effects from certain Shuriken can be instrumental in controlling the flow of battle, especially in maps with overwhelming enemy numbers or dangerous boss units. His starting inventory typically includes a basic Shuriken, but acquiring stronger variants like the Poison Shuriken or the Steel Shuriken as soon as possible will significantly boost his effectiveness. Kaze's recruitment occurs in Chapter 6, "The Underground Lake," where he pledges his allegiance to Corrin. His early availability makes him a cornerstone of many successful Conquest playthroughs.
