Reclassing in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest allows units to change their class, offering immense flexibility in army composition and strategy. This is primarily achieved through the use of Second Seals and Heart Seals. A Second Seal allows a unit to change to any other base class they are eligible for, resetting their level to 1 but retaining their learned skills. This is invaluable for units with suboptimal base class choices or for obtaining specific skills. For example, a unit with high Luck might benefit from reclassing into a class that utilizes that stat effectively. A Heart Seal, on the other hand, allows a unit to change to the base class of another unit they have an 'A' support with. This is a powerful tool for acquiring unique class combinations and skills. For instance, if Corrin has an 'A' support with Jakob, Corrin can use a Heart Seal to become a Butler or Maid, gaining access to staves and tomes. Reclassing is crucial for optimizing units for specific roles. A unit that struggles with physical defense might be reclassed into a magic-focused class like the Dark Mage line, or vice versa. Be mindful that reclassing resets a unit's level, so it's often best done around level 10 of their current class to maximize stat gains before the reset. This mechanic allows for deep customization, enabling players to create specialized units like a magic-wielding Knight or a swift Archer with access to lances.
