Paralogue 1: A Great Dream (Dwyer)
Paralogue 1, "A Great Dream," is your first opportunity to recruit the enigmatic Dwyer, Jakob's son, in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest. This paralogue becomes available after Chapter 10. The map features a small, open area with a few enemy units, primarily low-level Nohrian soldiers and a few troublesome Sorcerers. The primary objective is to defeat all enemies on the map. Dwyer himself is located in the center of the map, surrounded by a few allied units who will defend him. Your main challenge will be to clear a path to Dwyer and ensure his survival while simultaneously dealing with the enemy forces. The enemy composition includes several "Sorcerers", which can be a threat due to their high Magic and range. Be mindful of their "Tomefaire" skill, which boosts their magical damage. Positioning your units carefully is crucial. Units with high Defense, such as Xander or Silas, can act as a shield against the enemy's advances. Archers like Takumi can be effective at picking off distant Sorcerers before they can retaliate. Once the immediate threats are neutralized, you can send a swift unit, like a Paladin or a flying unit, to reach Dwyer. Upon defeating all enemies, Dwyer will join your party. His personal skill, "Child of the Stars," grants him +2 to all stats when he initiates combat, making him a decent offensive unit. He starts as a Troubadour, a healing class, but can promote into a Strategist or a Butler, offering significant support and magical capabilities. Ensure you have units capable of dealing with both physical and magical threats to efficiently clear this paralogue and secure Dwyer for your army.
