Paralogue 18: The Golden Child (Selkie)
Paralogue 18, "The Golden Child," is the key to recruiting Selkie, the daughter of Kaden and a potential spouse. This paralogue becomes available after reaching Chapter 21 of Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest. The objective of this map is to defeat all enemy units. Selkie is positioned among the enemy forces, and her defeat will trigger her recruitment. The map often features a mix of beast units and other formidable foes, requiring a strategic approach to combat. Units with high defense and the ability to counter beast units effectively will be crucial. Kaden, if present and supporting Selkie, can engage in a unique pre-battle conversation that delves into their father-daughter bond.
The terrain in "The Golden Child" paralogue can be varied, often including open areas and dense forests that can provide defensive bonuses or hinder movement. It's important to utilize your units' movement and combat abilities to their fullest. Fliers can be effective for quickly reaching Selkie, but they must be wary of enemy archers. Selkie's personal skill, "Feral Power," grants her +4 damage when her HP is below 50%, making her a dangerous opponent in her weakened state. When engaging her, consider using units that can withstand her boosted attacks or those that can quickly dispatch her before she can activate her skill. Upon clearing the map, Selkie will join your army. Her base class is Kitsune, and she possesses excellent Speed and Luck growth rates.
