Subaki Build Guide

Subaki, the Pegasus Knight retainer to the Hoshidan princess Hinoka, excels in aerial mobility and swift attacks. His personal skill, "Soaring," grants him a bonus to Avoid when he initiates combat, making him a slippery and dangerous offensive unit. When building Subaki, the primary focus should be on maximizing his Speed and Skill. These stats are crucial for him to double-attack enemies and land critical hits consistently. His natural affinity for high Speed growth means he can often outpace many threats on the battlefield, allowing him to engage and disengage with relative safety. His aerial movement also grants him the ability to traverse terrain that ground units cannot, opening up unique tactical opportunities.

For class promotion, the Falcon Knight class is a natural and highly effective progression for Subaki. This class retains his Pegasus Knight abilities, granting him flight and access to lances, while also boosting his Speed and Skill further. The Falcon Knight also gains access to healing staves, adding a valuable support utility to his offensive prowess. This dual role makes him incredibly versatile, capable of both dealing significant damage and providing crucial healing to nearby allies. When equipping Subaki, consider weapons that capitalize on his high Speed, such as the Brave Lance, which allows for four attacks in a single turn if he can double-attack. Alternatively, a powerful Silver Lance can ensure he deals substantial damage even to tougher enemies.

Subaki's support options should ideally complement his offensive role or provide him with additional defensive capabilities. Pairing him with units that can draw enemy attention or provide defensive buffs can allow him to operate more freely. His personal skill, "Soaring," is most effective when he is the one initiating combat, so positioning him to strike first is key. In chapters where aerial units are at a disadvantage due to anti-air effective weapons, such as certain wyvern-type enemies, be cautious. However, his high Speed often allows him to avoid these attacks altogether. When facing strong physical attackers, Subaki's high Avoid can be his greatest asset, allowing him to dodge incoming blows and retaliate with his own swift strikes. His ability to reach distant objectives quickly also makes him ideal for rescue or swift strike missions.
