Storage & Convoy Management
Efficiently managing your inventory and storage is a cornerstone of success in Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. The "Convoy" serves as your primary storage for all items not currently equipped by your units. This includes weapons, healing items, tonics, and rare materials. The Convoy has a virtually unlimited capacity, meaning you don't need to worry about running out of space for items you acquire. However, the number of items a single unit can carry is limited to five. This restriction necessitates careful planning regarding which items to equip on each unit before embarking on a battle map.
When preparing for a mission, access the Convoy to equip their units. This is done through the "Item" menu before starting a battle or during the preparation phase. It's crucial to ensure that your frontline units, such as Corrin or Silas, are equipped with powerful weapons like the Yato or a Steel Lance, respectively, along with healing items like Vulneraries. Support units or ranged attackers might benefit from carrying different types of weapons or utility items. For instance, a tactician unit might carry a Rescue Staff for repositioning allies, while a mage might carry multiple Elixirs for sustained magical offense.
Beyond equipping units, the Convoy is also where players will store materials gathered from "Gathering Points" or obtained from defeated enemies. Items like Spirit Dust or Dragonstone Shards should be kept in the Convoy until they are needed for crafting or upgrades. It's also advisable to store any duplicate weapons or items that are not currently in use but might be useful later. You can also sell items directly from the Convoy via the Shop at My Castle, which streamlines the process of offloading unwanted goods for gold. Regularly reviewing the Convoy's contents and ensuring that each unit is appropriately equipped is a vital step in preparing for the challenges ahead, especially when facing difficult chapters like Chapter 23, "The Final Barrier," where having the right tools can make all the difference.
