Paralogue 22's boss strategy is influenced by the battle's primary objective, which can range from Defeat the Boss to Survive or Seize. Knowing the objective is the first step in formulating a successful plan. The game mode you are playing, whether Casual or Phoenix, will also dictate the risk you can take with your units, as these modes mitigate permanent unit loss.
The boss encountered in Paralogue 22 is an Archer. This unit type is a basic ranged attacker, typically promoting to a Sniper. Archers can attack targets two squares away, and occasionally three with specific weapons, but are completely vulnerable to adjacent melee attacks. They are known for high Skill, which translates to excellent critical rates and accuracy, and deal bonus damage to flying units. They are particularly effective in maps with obstacles, like "dungeon levels," where they can attack over walls.
