Jakob serves as a loyal retainer to the player's avatar in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, offering both combat prowess and vital support. As a Butler, Jakob excels in a supportive role, often acting as a secondary healer or a strategic buffer for your front-line units. His starting class grants him access to both swords and staves, making him versatile in various combat scenarios. While not typically a front-line damage dealer, Jakob's personal skill, "Devotion," allows him to provide stat bonuses to adjacent allies, enhancing their survivability and offensive capabilities.

When considering Jakob's stat growth, players will find he generally boasts good Speed and Resistance, making him adept at dodging magical attacks and following up with swift counter-strikes. His Strength and Defense are typically average, meaning he can hold his own but shouldn't be relied upon to tank heavy physical damage. His Luck stat is also decent, contributing to his ability to avoid critical hits and land his own.

Jakob's potential for reclassification opens up further strategic options. If reclassified into a Cavalier, he gains access to lances and can become a more mobile unit, capable of engaging from a distance and retreating quickly. This path also allows him to eventually promote into a Paladin or Great Knight, gaining significant defensive and offensive boosts. Alternatively, reclassifying into a Wyvern Rider grants him access to axes and flight, enabling him to bypass terrain obstacles and strike vulnerable enemies from above.
