Establishing a formidable defense in your My Castle is crucial for both protecting your resources and achieving victory in asynchronous multiplayer battles in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Your defensive setup is what other players will face when they choose to invade your territory. A well-prepared defense can deter attacks, secure victories, and earn you valuable rewards.
The core of your defense lies in the units you ass to guard your Castle. You can select a limited number of your active roster to be stationed. Prioritize units with high defensive stats (Defense and Resistance) and those that possess powerful skills or advantageous weapon types against common enemy archetypes. For example, having a strong lance-wielding unit can be effective against cavalry-heavy assaults.
Consider the placement of your defensive units. The layout of your My Castle, with its various buildings and pathways, can be exploited to create advantageous choke points. Units positioned on elevated terrain or behind defensive structures will naturally have an advantage. Avoid clustering all your units together, as this can make them vulnerable to area-of-effect attacks.
Beyond your combat units, the buildings within your My Castle also contribute to its defense. Structures like the Armory or the Smithy can provide passive buffs to your defending units or offer tactical advantages. Ensure these buildings are upgraded to maximize their defensive benefits.
