Seals (Heart, Master, Partner, Friendship)

Seals are a fundamental mechanic in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, allowing you to promote your units and change their classes, significantly altering their combat capabilities and stat growth. Understanding the different types of seals and their applications is key to building a powerful and versatile army.

There are four primary types of Seals:

• Heart Seal: This seal allows a unit to change to a different base class within their current tier. For example, a Villager could become a Mercenary or an Archer. This is useful for characters who might perform better in a different role or to gain access to new skills.
• Master Seal: The standard promotion seal. When used on a unit that has reached the required level (typically level 10 in their base class), it promotes them to an advanced class. This grants a significant stat boost and often unlocks new weapon proficiencies and powerful skills.
• Partner Seal: This unique seal can only be used when two units have achieved a high Support level (usually A or S). Using a Partner Seal on one of the involved units allows them to change to the *other* unit's base class, provided it's within the same tier. This is a fantastic way to diversify your army or give a character access to a class they wouldn't normally learn.
• Friendship Seal: Similar to the Partner Seal, this seal is used when two units have a high Support level. It allows one of the units to change to a different base class within their tier, but it's tied to the Support partner's available base classes. This offers more flexibility than a standard Heart Seal if your partner has a desirable base class.

The strategic use of Seals is paramount. Promoting a unit with a Master Seal at the earliest opportunity can give them a significant advantage. However, sometimes it's beneficial to wait until a unit is at a higher level to maximize their stat gains before promoting. Heart Seals and Friendship Seals offer opportunities for unique builds and can be used to adapt units to specific map challenges or to shore up weaknesses.

Pay close attention to the classes available to your units and their potential skill sets. A well-timed promotion or class change can turn a struggling unit into a powerhouse.
