Mjolnir's Strike
Mjolnir's Strike is a recurring event in Fire Emblem Heroes that pits your chosen heroes against waves of powerful enemies, culminating in a battle against the formidable Loki. This guide will help you maximize your score and earn valuable rewards, including Divine Codes and Dragonflowers.
Event Structure
Mjolnir's Strike consists of two main phases:
- Shield Phase: This phase is a preparation period where you strengthen your defenses. You'll choose a team of heroes to defend against incoming attacks. Your score here contributes to your overall ranking.
- Counter Phase: This is the main battle phase where you directly engage the enemy forces. You'll deploy a team of heroes to defeat waves of enemies and ultimately confront Loki.
Shield Phase Strategy
During the Shield Phase, your goal is to maximize your "Shield Strength" by strategically placing heroes on a grid. The higher your Shield Strength, the better your starting advantage in the Counter Phase.
- Hero Placement: Pay close attention to the bonus effects provided by specific grid squares. These often grant stat boosts or special abilities to heroes placed on them. Prioritize placing your strongest defensive units (high HP/Def/Res) on these squares.
- Blessing Bonuses: Heroes with the current season's blessing (e.g., Light, Astra, Anima, Dark) will receive significant stat bonuses. Always include blessed heroes in your Shield Phase team.
- Mythic Heroes: Mythic Heroes (e.g., Eir, Naga, Altina, Peony) provide additional score multipliers. If you have them, utilize them in your Shield Phase team for a higher score. Their presence also boosts the stats of blessed allies.
- Merge Levels and Dragonflowers: Highly merged heroes and heroes with increased Dragonflower stats will naturally contribute more to your Shield Strength. Invest in your favorite heroes to improve your Mjolnir's Strike performance.
Counter Phase Walkthrough
The Counter Phase is a challenging multi-stage battle. Success hinges on careful team composition and tactical execution.
Team Composition
A balanced team is crucial. Consider the following archetypes:
- Main Attacker (Nuke): A highly offensive unit capable of dealing massive damage to multiple enemies. Examples include powerful mages like Legendary Lilina or ranged cavalry like Brave Lyn.
- Support Unit: Heroes that provide buffs, debuffs, or healing. Dancers (e.g., Peony, Legendary Azura) are invaluable for extending movement and allowing extra actions. Healers (e.g., Brave Veronica, Flayn) can keep your team healthy.
- Tank/Defensive Unit: A hero with high defensive stats to absorb hits and protect your squishier units. Armored units (e.g., Brave Hector, Winter Sothis) or high-HP infantry units with damage reduction skills are excellent choices.
- Utility/Specific Counter: Depending on the enemy lineup, you might need a hero with specific skills to counter threats, such as a unit with effective damage against armored foes (e.g., Micaiah) or a Null Follow-Up user.
Battle Strategy
The Counter Phase map features a central "Thunderbolt" that deals damage to enemies within its range. Your primary objective is to protect your "Thunderbolt" while eliminating all enemy units.
- Initial Deployment: Carefully consider your starting positions. Place your tanks in positions to intercept immediate threats, and your attackers in range to strike. Dancers should be positioned to support your main damage dealers.
- Utilize the Thunderbolt: The Thunderbolt is your greatest asset. Position enemies within its range to maximize its damage output. Remember that the Thunderbolt's damage scales with your Shield Phase score.
- Prioritize Threats: Identify and eliminate high-threat enemies first. This often includes ranged attackers, healers, or units with dangerous special skills. Don't let them chip away at your Thunderbolt or key heroes.
- Movement and Positioning: Use the terrain to your advantage. Choke points can funnel enemies, allowing your tanks to hold the line effectively. Keep your squishier units out of harm's way.
- Special Skill Management: Time your Special skills strategically. Save powerful offensive Specials for difficult enemies or when you need to clear a wave quickly. Defensive Specials can be crucial for surviving strong attacks.
- Loki Encounter: Loki will appear as the final boss. She often has unique skills and high stats. Focus fire on her with your strongest attackers. Debuffs and stat-reducing skills can be very effective against her. Be prepared for her to potentially warp or move unexpectedly.
Rewards and Ranking
Your performance in Mjolnir's Strike determines your tier and the rewards you receive. Higher tiers yield more Divine Codes, Dragonflowers, and other valuable resources.
- Divine Codes: These are a primary reward, used to purchase rare skills and units from the Divine Code Paths.
- Dragonflowers: Essential for increasing the base stats of your heroes, making them stronger in all game modes.
- Feathers: Used for promoting heroes and increasing their merge levels.
Aim to achieve the highest possible score in both phases to climb the ranks and secure the best rewards. Consistent participation is key to accumulating these valuable resources over time.
