Donations
Donations are a crucial, yet often overlooked, mechanic in Fire Emblem: Three Houses that can significantly boost your professor level, provide valuable items, and enhance your overall gameplay experience. By contributing to the various statues within the Garreg Mach Monastery, you unlock permanent stat bonuses for your units, making future battles much smoother. This section will guide you through the donation process, highlight key items to prioritize, and outline the benefits you can reap.
How to Donate
Donations are made at the Statue of the Goddess located in the Cathedral area of Garreg Mach Monastery. You can access this feature during your free exploration days. Simply approach the statue and interact with it to bring up the donation menu.
The donation system is tied to your Professor Level. As your Professor Level increases, more donation tiers become available, offering greater rewards and requiring larger sums of Gold.
Donation Tiers and Rewards
There are several tiers of donations, each unlocking permanent bonuses across various stats. The bonuses are cumulative, meaning that unlocking a higher tier adds to the benefits of previous tiers.
- Tier 1: Beginner's Offering
- Cost: 1,000 Gold
- Unlocks: +1% to all stat growth for all units. This is a small but impactful boost, especially early on.
- Tier 2: Devout Contribution
- Cost: 5,000 Gold
- Unlocks: +2% to all stat growth for all units (total of +3%). Additionally, you'll receive a Steel Sword and a Steel Lance as a one-time bonus.
- Tier 3: Sacred Gift
- Cost: 10,000 Gold
- Unlocks: +3% to all stat growth for all units (total of +6%). You'll also be rewarded with a Silver Bow and a Silver Axe.
- Tier 4: Divine Endowment
- Cost: 20,000 Gold
- Unlocks: +4% to all stat growth for all units (total of +10%). This tier also grants you a Master Seal, a crucial item for promoting units to advanced classes.
- Tier 5: Heavenly Blessing
- Cost: 40,000 Gold
- Unlocks: +5% to all stat growth for all units (total of +15%). This final tier provides a Goddess Icon and a Sacred Shield.
Strategic Donation Tips
- Early Investment is Key: Prioritize making donations as soon as your Professor Level allows. The stat growth bonuses apply to *all* units for the *entire game*, so the earlier you invest, the more benefit you'll receive over time.
- Gold Management: While the costs can seem steep early on, remember that Gold can be acquired through battles, selling unneeded items, and completing quests. Don't be afraid to spend some of your earnings on donations.
- Master Seal Priority: The Master Seal from Tier 4 is incredibly valuable. Aim to reach this tier before you need to promote multiple units to advanced classes, as Master Seals can be scarce.
- Item Rewards: The weapons and items received as one-time bonuses are useful, especially in the early to mid-game. The Goddess Icon (increases luck) and Sacred Shield (grants Def/Res +2) from the final tier are excellent accessories for your chosen units.
- Professor Level Progression: Your Professor Level naturally increases through activities like battling, fishing, gardening, and sharing meals. Actively engaging in these activities will allow you to unlock higher donation tiers more quickly.
By diligently donating to the Statue of the Goddess, you'll ensure your army is as strong as possible, giving you a significant edge in the challenging battles that lie ahead in Fódlan.
