Lectures
Lectures are a fundamental aspect of student development in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, occurring every Sunday during the academic calendar. These sessions are crucial for improving your students' skills, unlocking new abilities, and fostering their growth. By strategically choosing which students to lecture and what topics to focus on, you can significantly impact your army's overall strength and adaptability throughout the game.
Each lecture session allows you to choose one student to focus on. The effectiveness of the lecture depends on your own proficiency in the subject being taught. For instance, if you have a high proficiency in Swords, you can effectively teach Sword skills to your students. The goal is to raise their skill levels in specific weapon types, magic schools, or combat arts. Higher skill levels not only increase their combat effectiveness but also unlock new abilities and combat arts unique to that skill.
Beyond skill development, lectures also contribute to a student's overall growth. A student who consistently receives lectures in a particular area will see their associated stats increase more rapidly. For example, lecturing a student in Bows might lead to an increase in their Dexterity, while lecturing in Reason could boost their Intelligence. This makes lectures a vital tool for tailoring your students' growth to your preferred playstyle and the demands of upcoming battles.
Lecture Mechanics:
- Student Selection: Choose one student to lecture each Sunday.
- Subject Focus: Select a subject based on your own proficiencies and the student's potential.
- Skill Improvement: Students gain skill points in the lectured subject.
- Stat Growth: Associated stats may increase based on the subject and student.
- Ability Unlocks: Reaching certain skill thresholds unlocks new abilities and combat arts.
Strategic Lecture Choices:
- Early Game Focus: Prioritize lecturing students in their preferred weapon types or magic schools to quickly unlock basic abilities and combat arts. For example, lecture Ashe in Bows, or Annette in Reason.
- Class Advancement: Consider lecturing students in skills required for their desired intermediate or advanced classes. For example, if you want Ferdinand to become a Cavalier, lecture him in Lances and Riding.
- Addressing Weaknesses: If a student has a notable weakness, use lectures to shore it up. For instance, lecture a physically frail mage in Faith to improve their resistance.
- Maximizing Proficiencies: Always lecture in subjects where you have high proficiencies to ensure the most effective skill gain.
- Student Motivation: Pay attention to your students' interests and aspirations. Lecturing them in areas they are passionate about can lead to higher motivation and better results.
Lectures are a passive, yet incredibly powerful, tool for character development. By dedicating time to these sessions, you are investing in the future strength of your army, ensuring your students are well-equipped to face any challenge that comes their way on the battlefield.
