Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes features three distinct main story routes, each offering a unique perspective on the conflict in Fódlan. Completing all three of these major story paths is a significant undertaking and is tied to several achievements that reward players for their dedication. These achievements often require not just finishing the story, but also achieving certain in-game objectives along the way.
The three main story routes are Scarlet Blaze (Adrestian Empire), Azure Gleam (Holy Kingdom of Faerghus), and Golden Wildfire (Leicester Alliance). To unlock the achievement for completing a specific route, players must play through the entirety of that path, from Chapter 0 through the final chapter of that route. For example, to achieve "Scarlet Blaze Survivor," one must successfully complete all missions within the Adrestian Empire's storyline, including key battles such as the defense of Enbarr.
Beyond simply finishing the story, some route-related achievements may require players to achieve an S Rank on every mission within that route. This means optimizing character builds, completing objectives within the time limit, and ensuring high enemy defeat counts. For instance, achieving S Rank on all missions in the Azure Gleam route might involve meticulously planning troop movements and utilizing specific character pairings, like Dimitri and Dedue, to their fullest potential in battles across the Fhirdiad Sea.
There are also achievements tied to unlocking all possible endings for each route. While the main story has a definitive conclusion for each path, certain choices made throughout the game can lead to variations in the epilogue. To fully complete a route in terms of achievements, players may need to replay certain chapters or make different dialogue choices to witness all possible outcomes. This often involves understanding the relationship mechanics and support levels between characters, such as ensuring a high support level between Claude and Hilda to unlock specific epilogue variations in the Golden Wildfire route.
Finally, a meta-achievement often exists for completing all three main routes. This sifies the player's mastery of the game's core content and their understanding of the overarching narrative from multiple viewpoints. This ultimate achievement, often titled something akin to "Fódlan's True Hero," requires a significant time investment, potentially exceeding 100 hours of gameplay, as each route can take 30-40 hours to complete. It encourages players to explore the different character roles and strategic approaches that each faction offers, from the disciplined legions of the Empire to the fierce warriors of Faerghus and the cunning strategists of the Alliance.
