Combat & Strategies
Engaging in combat within Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes requires a blend of aggressive offense and tactical awareness. Each battlefield is populated with numerous enemy units, ranging from common soldiers to formidable officers and even powerful named characters. Players control a primary character while issuing commands to their allied forces, directing them to capture strategic points, defend key locations, or engage specific enemy commanders. The effectiveness of your army hinges on unit matchups, character abilities, and the strategic deployment of special skills. For instance, utilizing a character with high mobility, like a Pegasus Knight, to quickly flank an enemy formation can disrupt their lines and create openings for your main force. Conversely, deploying heavily armored units to hold a chokepoint can prevent enemy advances while your more offensive units press the attack elsewhere.
To achieve S Rank on missions, players must focus on efficiency and objective completion. This often means clearing enemy strongholds rapidly, defeating all desated officers within a time limit, and minimizing casualties among your own troops. Certain missions may feature specific bonus objectives that, if met, significantly boost your score and rewards. For example, completing a mission without any allied units falling in battle, or defeating a certain number of enemies within a short timeframe, can contribute to a higher rank. Experimenting with different character pairings and team compositions is also crucial. A balanced team might include a strong frontline fighter, a ranged attacker, and a support character capable of healing or buffing allies. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each character, such as Claude's proficiency with a bow or Byleth's mastery of various weapons, will allow for more effective team synergy and battlefield dominance. Looting specific items, like a Titanite Shard from a fallen officer, can also provide valuable resources for character progression.
