When you enter the "Upgrades and Tuning" menu for a specific car, you'll find the "Engine & Drivetrain" section. Here, you can browse through available engine swaps. These range from dropping in a more powerful V8 into a smaller chassis to exotic V12s or even specialized racing engines. Each swap comes with a clear indication of its performance impact, including changes to horsepower, torque, and weight distribution. Be aware that some engine swaps may require specific chassis or drivetrain modifications to be compatible.
Beyond full engine swaps, a vast selection of individual engine component upgrades awaits. These include:
- Intake Systems: Cold air intakes and performance air filters can improve airflow, leading to modest horsepower gains.
- Exhaust Systems: From sport mufflers to full racing headers, these upgrades not only alter the sound of your engine but also contribute to better exhaust flow and power output.
- Forced Induction: Turbochargers and superchargers are the ultimate power boosters. Installing these can dramatically increase horsepower and torque, but often require supporting modifications to the engine's internals and fuel system.
