In Sector 1, most enemies will have basic lasers and sometimes a missile weapon. Focus your fire on their Weapons system first to reduce incoming damage. If they have a missile launcher, target that immediately. Use your crew to repair damaged systems quickly. If you have a teleporter, consider boarding weak enemy ships for extra scrap and potential crew skills.
