Keeping Your Game Lean and Fast:
- Unsubscribe from Unused Addons: Regularly go through your Workshop subscriptions and unsubscribe from anything you don't actively use. Too many addons are the #1 cause of lag.
- Clean Up Duplicates: Some addons might contain redundant files. Use tools like 'GMod Cleaner' (an external program) to identify and remove these.
- Server-Side Downloads: When joining a server, it downloads its required addons. If you frequently join many different servers, your addons folder can become bloated. Consider using a tool to clear server-side downloads periodically.
- Disable Addons In-Game: Use the 'Addons' tab in the Spawn Menu (Q) to temporarily disable addons without unsubscribing.
