Gifts and Altars

Discover the sificance of Gifts and Altars in Ghost of Tsushima. This section explains how to collect these meaningful tokens of appreciation from completed Tales and where to find the various altars scattered across Tsushima to receive your rewards. Gifts are a testament to Jin's growing influence and the gratitude of the people.

As you progress through the world of Ghost of Tsushima, completing Tales of Tsushima (side quests) will often reward you with Gifts. These are tokens of gratitude from the people you've helped, and they can be collected at specific Altars found throughout the island. Collecting 10 gifts is required for the 'Gifted' achievement.

Collecting Gifts:

  • Gifts are automatically awarded upon the completion of many Tales of Tsushima.
  • You will receive a notification when a Gift is available.
  • These Gifts are not automatically added to your inventory; they must be retrieved from an Altar.

Altar Locations:

There are several Altars where you can collect your accumulated Gifts. These are strategically placed in key villages and temples across Tsushima:

  • Golden Temple (Izuhara): Located in the southern part of the Izuhara region.
  • Akishima Village (Toyotama): Found in the central Toyotama region.
  • Yarikawa Village (Toyotama): Situated in the western part of the Toyotama region.
  • Omi Lake (Toyotama): Located in the eastern part of the Toyotama region.
  • Jogaku Temple (Kamiagata): Found in the northern Kamiagata region.

Visiting any of these Altars will allow you to collect all pending Gifts. It's a good practice to visit an Altar periodically, especially after completing a series of side quests, to ensure you don't miss out on any rewards.

Sificance of Gifts:

While primarily tied to an achievement, Gifts represent the growing respect and admiration Jin garners from the people of Tsushima. They are a tangible representation of his impact beyond the battlefield, reinforcing the narrative of his transformation into a protector and a symbol of hope.
