The Tale of Lord Shimura (Final) — Ghost of Tsushima Walkthrough
This section covers the main story quests in Act 1, focusing on Jin's initial journey and the introduction of key characters and mechanics. It also details the Mythic Tales available early in the game, which unlock powerful abilities and unique armor.
Jin's Journey Act I includes:
- The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa
- The Tale of Lady Masako
- The Warrior's Code
- Blood on the Grass
- The Tale of Ryuzo
- The Broken Blacksmith
- Hammer and Forge
- The Iron Hook
- Shadow of the Samurai
Mythic Tales are special side missions given by musicians that unlock either a Mythical ability or a special piece of armor. They often conclude with boss battles. There are three Mythic Tales available in Act 1, which unlock gradually as central Story quests are completed. It is recommended to complete these as they become available, especially "The Heavenly Strike," which unlocks a useful ability.
- The Heavenly Strike
- The Curse of Uchitsune
- The Legend of Tadayori
- The Unbreakable Gosaku
The Unbreakable Gosaku can be started from Akashima Village. "The Curse of Uchitsune" is a painting-driven Mythic Tale initiated by speaking to Yamoto at Hiyoshi Springs. He directs Jin to a large stretch of coast to find blue flowers, which are located in the middle of the area. Another painting-driven Mythic Tale involves following a trail of flowers starting just left of the center of a large circled area on the map. These flowers lead up a hill and through rock formations to an altar where the Longbow is found. After taking it, Jin must fight a Tengu Demon.
Legend in the game represents Jin's level, with 11 ranks. Each rank provides technique points to upgrade Jin's abilities. Legend is gained by completing Main quests, Side quests, Mythic Tales, and liberating Mongol territories. Small amounts of Legend are also gained by saving civilians. Achieving the 11th rank unlocks an achievement.
