Technique Points & Upgrades — Ghost of Tsushima Guide
Technique Points are used to unlock and upgrade Jin's abilities and perks in Ghost of Tsushima. Players earn Technique Points by increasing their Legend rank, which is gained through completing quests, liberating Mongol territories, and saving civilians. Prioritizing upgrades can significantly enhance Jin's combat and exploration capabilities.
In Ghost of Tsushima, Technique Points are the currency for improving Jin's skills. These points allow players to unlock new abilities and enhance existing ones across various skill trees. Jin's overall progression is tied to his "Legend" rank, which functions as his experience level.
Players increase their Legend and earn Technique Points through several activities:
- Completing Main quests.
- Finishing Side quests.
- Undertaking Mythic tales.
- Liberating Mongol territories.
- Saving randomly encountered civilians.
There are 11 ranks of Legend to progress through. Upon reaching the 11th and final rank, an achievement will unlock. Early in the game, especially in Act 1, Jin's first few quests serve as tutorials, providing initial Technique Points to begin building his abilities. It is recommended to explore and complete some initial quests before focusing heavily on Mythic tales, though abilities like the Heavenly Strike (unlocked via a Mythic tale) are highly useful.
Techniques are categorized and offer different benefits:
- Armor: Enhances Jin's combat or exploration perks.
- Charms: Accessories that bolster Jin's abilities.
- Techniques: Unlockable abilities and perks using Technique Points.
