Tsushima is a vast and beautiful island, teeming with secrets waiting to be discovered. Beyond the main narrative, a wealth of collectibles and optional activities will enrich your journey as Jin Sakai. These range from the spiritual to the practical, each offering unique rewards and insights into the world.
Hidden Shrines & Hot Springs
Throughout Tsushima, you'll find numerous hidden shrines dedicated to Inari, the fox spirit. Interacting with these shrines often involves following a trail of foxes, culminating in a small offering. These shrines grant you Charm slots, allowing you to equip more powerful charms that enhance Jin's abilities. Additionally, Hot Springs offer a way to increase Jin's maximum health. Seek them out to gain a tangible advantage in combat and exploration.
Bamboo Strikes & Haiku Spots
Bamboo Strikes are a test of Jin's focus and discipline. Successfully completing a Bamboo Strike by rapidly pressing the indicated buttons will increase Jin's Resolve. Resolve is crucial for performing powerful special moves and healing in combat. Haiku spots, scattered across the landscape, allow Jin to compose short poems. Each completed Haiku rewards you with a Vanity Gear set, offering cosmetic customization options for Jin's appearance.
Singing Crickets & Pillars of Honor
Listen closely for the distinct chirping of Singing Crickets. These can be found in various locations, often near graves. Collecting crickets and offering them at graves will unlock new Flute Songs. These songs have the power to influence the environment, such as changing the weather or summoning animals. Pillars of Honor are ancient markers that, when interacted with, reveal a piece of lore and often reward you with a Vanity Sword. These are typically found in more remote or challenging locations.
Collecting Resources
Supplies, Iron, Steel, and other crafting materials are vital for upgrading your armor and Ghost Weapons. These can be found in abundance by liberating Mongol camps and outposts, looting fallen enemies, and exploring the environment. Keep an eye out for chests and resource nodes, especially after clearing out enemy encampments.
