Multiplayer (Legends)
While the core Ghost of Tsushima experience is a deeply personal journey for Jin Sakai, the Legends multiplayer mode offers a distinct and cooperative way to experience the world of Tsushima. This mode introduces new challenges and gameplay mechanics designed for two to four players, focusing on teamwork and specialized roles. Legends is not just a tacked-on addition; it's a fully realized expansion that includes its own story missions, survival challenges, and a raid that tests the coordination of even the most seasoned players.
You can choose from four distinct classes, each with unique abilities and playstyles: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin. The Samurai excels in direct combat, capable of drawing enemy attention and unleashing devastating attacks. The Hunter focuses on ranged combat, utilizing bows with precision to pick off enemies from afar. The Ronin is a versatile support class, able to heal allies and revive downed teammates, making them invaluable in tough situations. The Assassin, true to their name, specializes in stealth and rapid takedowns, often utilizing poisons and critical strikes.
Progression in Legends is tied to completing various missions and challenges, which reward players with Ghost Flowers. These flowers can be exchanged for new abilities, charms, and cosmetics. The higher the difficulty of the mission, the greater the rewards. Survival mode pits teams against waves of increasingly difficult enemies, while Story missions retell classic tales with new twists and challenges. The ultimate test is the "Raid: The Tale of Iyo," a multi-part, highly challenging experience that requires exceptional communication and execution from all players.
- Samurai: High defense, powerful melee attacks, can draw aggro.
- Hunter: Ranged specialist, excels with bows, critical hits.
- Ronin: Support class, healing abilities, revives allies.
- Assassin: Stealth expert, quick kills, poison and critical damage.
Teamwork is paramount in Legends. Coordinating abilities, sharing resources, and communicating effectively are key to overcoming the toughest encounters. Mastering each class and understanding how they synergize will be crucial for success.
