Safehouses are your personal havens in Liberty City, offering a crucial base of operations for Huang Lee. They provide a place to save your game, store your vehicles, and access various useful features. As you progress through the story, you'll unlock more safehouses across the city, each strategically located to assist with your criminal endeavors.

Key Safehouse Functions

Saving Your Game: The most vital function. Always save after completing missions or significant activities to avoid losing progress. There are two save slots available, so consider using the second slot for important milestones.
Garage: Each safehouse comes with a garage where you can store up to four vehicles. This is invaluable for keeping your favorite or most powerful cars safe from destruction or impound. Simply drive a vehicle into the garage to store it.
Weapon Stash: Access your entire arsenal of purchased weapons and ammunition. This allows you to re-equip before missions or switch up your loadout as needed.
Drug Stash: A secure location to store your drug inventory. This is essential for managing your drug dealing operations, allowing you to hold large quantities without risking loss if you get busted or wasted.
Laptop: Your personal computer provides access to several important features:
- Email: Receive messages from contacts, mission updates, and important game information.
- Ammu-Nation: Purchase weapons, armor, and ammunition directly from your safehouse. This saves you a trip to a physical Ammu-Nation store.
- Web Store: Order unique vehicles and other special items that become available as you progress.
- Social Club: Connect to the Rockstar Social Club for stats tracking and other online features.
Health Pack: A free health pack is usually available at each safehouse, allowing you to fully restore Huang's health.

Safehouse Locations and Acquisition

You will acquire safehouses as you advance through the main storyline. They are typically granted after completing specific missions or reaching certain points in the narrative.

Northwood Safehouse (Bohan): This is your very first safehouse, unlocked early in the game after the initial introductory missions. It's a small apartment in Northwood, Bohan, and serves as your primary base for the early game.
Cerveza Heights Safehouse (Dukes): Located in Dukes, this safehouse becomes available as you expand your influence across Liberty City. It offers a more central location for operations in Dukes and Steinway.
Pardise Safehouse (Algonquin): Situated in the bustling borough of Algonquin, this safehouse is crucial for navigating the more complex and dangerous missions in the city's heart. Its central location makes it ideal for quick access to various districts.
Rotterdam Hill Safehouse (Algonquin): Another Algonquin safehouse, providing an additional strategic point in the city's largest borough. Useful for missions in the western parts of Algonquin.
Lancaster Safehouse (Algonquin): Positioned in a different part of Algonquin, offering further convenience for specific mission routes or drug dealing opportunities in that area.
Acter Industrial Park Safehouse (Alderney): As you venture into Alderney, this safehouse becomes your base of operations in the industrial heartland. Essential for missions and drug routes in Alderney.
Leftwood Safehouse (Alderney): A second safehouse in Alderney, providing more coverage and a convenient respawn point for activities in the northern parts of the borough.

Strategic Use of Safehouses

Mastering the use of safehouses is key to success in Chinatown Wars:

Pre-Mission Prep: Before embarking on a challenging mission, always visit a safehouse. Save your game, stock up on armor and ammunition from the Ammu-Nation laptop, and grab a health pack.
Post-Mission Recovery: After a tough mission, especially if your health is low or your car is damaged, head straight to a safehouse. Save your game, heal up, and retrieve a fresh vehicle from your garage.
Drug Dealing Hubs: Utilize safehouses as central points for your drug dealing empire. Store large quantities of drugs in your stash, then use your garage to store vehicles optimized for quick drug runs.
Vehicle Management: Don't let valuable vehicles go to waste. If you find a rare or powerful car, drive it to the nearest safehouse and store it in your garage. This ensures you always have access to top-tier transportation.
Escaping the Cops: While not a direct escape route, reaching a safehouse and saving your game will clear your wanted level. This can be a last resort if you're heavily pursued and can make it inside.
