Story Progression & Mission Unlocks

The primary path to progression is completing the main story missions. Each completed mission unlocks new areas of the city, new contacts, and often, new side activities. Pay close attention to the in-game GPS for mission markers (usually yellow icons) to advance the narrative. Completing the final mission, "A Rude Awakening," will conclude the main story, but much more remains to be done for true completionists.

Drug Dealing & Safehouses

A core mechanic in Chinatown Wars is the drug dealing system. Engaging in this activity is crucial for earning money and unlocking specific safehouses. The more you deal, the more cash you accumulate, which can then be used to purchase property. There are a total of six safehouses scattered across Liberty City:

• Dukes Safehouse: Automatically unlocked early in the game. Your initial base of operations.
• Broker Safehouse: Purchase for $5,000. Located in Broker, this safehouse offers a convenient base in the eastern borough.
• Bohan Safehouse: Purchase for $10,000. Situated in Bohan, providing access to the northern parts of the city.
• Algonquin Safehouse (North): Purchase for $20,000. Found in northern Algonquin, ideal for quick access to the business district.

• Stunt Jumps (30 Total): Marked by ramp icons. Successfully completing all 30 unique Stunt Jumps unlocks the Bulletproof Patriot at your safehouse garage. Look for ramps, broken bridges, and other structures that allow for significant airtime.
• Hidden Cameras (100 Total): Small, red security cameras scattered throughout the city. Destroying all 100 Hidden Cameras unlocks the Bulletproof Hellenbach at your safehouse garage. These are often found on walls, lampposts, and rooftops.
• Drug Dens (80 Total): These are specific locations where you can buy and sell drugs. Visiting all 80 unique Drug Dens is required for 100% completion. While not directly unlocking a vehicle, it's essential for maximizing your drug profits and overall game progress.
• Gang Wars: After completing the mission "Stealing the Show," you can initiate Gang Wars by driving into rival gang territories (marked in red on the map). Winning 30 Gang Wars unlocks the Bulletproof APC at your safehouse garage. This is an excellent way to earn extra cash and test your combat skills.
