Key Strategies:

  • Headshot Priority: Always aim for the head. Headshots deal significantly more damage and often result in one-hit kills, even against armored enemies. Practice quick aim-and-snap headshots.
  • Blind Fire: While in cover, you can blind fire by pressing the fire button without aiming. This is less accurate but allows you to suppress enemies or hit targets without exposing yourself. Useful for drawing fire or finishing off low-health enemies.
  • Roll Dodge: When free-aiming (Right Mouse Button), pressing the Spacebar (PC) will make Niko perform a combat roll. This is excellent for quickly repositioning, dodging grenades, or avoiding incoming fire.
  • Melee Counters: In hand-to-hand combat, blocking (Right Mouse Button) and then immediately attacking can trigger a powerful counter-attack, often knocking out opponents in one hit.
  • Environmental Awareness: Use explosive barrels, gas pumps, and other destructible elements to your advantage. Shooting them can create large explosions, clearing groups of enemies.
  • Weapon Switching: Quickly switch between weapons using the scroll wheel or number keys. Start with an assault rifle for medium range, switch to a shotgun for close quarters, and a pistol for headshots on isolated targets.
  • Grenade Usage: Don't just throw grenades randomly. Use them to flush enemies out of cover, clear rooms, or destroy vehicles. Cook grenades by holding the throw button to time their explosion.

Practice these techniques in less critical missions or during free-roam to become a more proficient combatant. The ability to quickly adapt and utilize your full arsenal is crucial for the game's later challenges.
