How Wanted Levels Work:

  • Cone of Vision: When you commit a crime, a blue cone appears on your minimap, representing the police's line of sight. If you exit this cone and remain out of sight, your wanted level will eventually disappear.
  • Stars: Ranging from 1 to 6, each star increases the aggression and number of police units pursuing you.
  • Police Response:
    • 1-2 Stars: Patrol cars, basic pursuit.
    • 3 Stars: Helicopters, roadblocks, more aggressive pursuit.
    • 4 Stars: NOOSE (National Office of Security Enforcement) units, armored vehicles, heavy weaponry.
    • 5-6 Stars: FIB (Federal Investigation Bureau) agents, extreme force, virtually inescapable without specific tactics.

Strategies for Evasion:

  • Exit the Cone: The primary goal is to drive or run out of the blue cone on your minimap.
  • Lose Line of Sight: Drive into tunnels, underpasses, or through alleys to break the police's line of sight.
  • Change Vehicles: If you're in a damaged or easily identifiable car, quickly switch to another vehicle once out of the cone.
  • Pay 'n' Spray: Driving into a Pay 'n' Spray garage will instantly remove your wanted level (costs money). This is the fastest and most reliable method.
  • Call Kiki Jenkins: If you have a good relationship with Kiki, calling her will remove one wanted star.
  • Boats/Helicopters: For high wanted levels, getting into a boat or helicopter can be an effective way to escape, as police air and sea units are less common.
  • Hide: Find secluded spots, like parking garages or dense foliage, and wait for the wanted level to disappear.

Avoid engaging police directly unless absolutely necessary, as it only prolongs the chase and increases your wanted level. Focus on evasion and breaking line of sight.
