Save Early, Save Often: This is paramount in any Grand Theft Auto game. Always save your progress at a safe house after completing a mission or a significant side activity. Your first safe house is in Portland, near the ferry terminal.
Collect Hidden Packages: Liberty City is littered with 100 hidden packages. Collecting these not only rewards you with cash but also unlocks weapon spawns at your safe houses. Prioritize finding a few in Portland early on to get access to basic weaponry like the Pistol or Micro SMG without having to buy them.
