Understanding Turf Wars

Turf wars become available after the mission "Doberman." You'll notice areas on your map highlighted in different colors:

  • Green: Grove Street Families territory. These are your safe zones.
  • Red: Ballas territory. These are your primary targets for conquest.
  • Yellow: Vagos territory. Another rival gang, also ripe for taking over.
  • Purple: San Fierro Rifa territory. Found later in the game, primarily in San Fierro.
  • Light Blue: Da Nang Boys territory. Also found later, in San Fierro.
  • Dark Blue: Mafia territory. Found in Las Venturas.

To initiate a turf war, you must enter enemy territory (red or yellow on the map) and kill at least three rival gang members. This will trigger a notification and the area will begin to flash. Be prepared for a fight!
