100% Completion Checklist
Achieving 100% completion in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a monumental task, but incredibly rewarding. This comprehensive checklist will guide you through every mission, collectible, and side activity required to truly conquer the neon-soaked streets of Vice City. Follow these steps methodically, and Tommy Vercetti will reign supreme!
Main Story Missions
Complete all 36 story missions. These are the core narrative quests that advance the plot and unlock new areas and opportunities. While some side activities can be done earlier, it's often best to complete the main story first to gain access to all areas and properties.
- Vercetti Estate Missions: These missions, starting with "An Old Friend," are the backbone of your criminal empire.
- Diaz Missions: Work for Ricardo Diaz to gain influence and eventually take over his mansion.
- Love Fist Missions: Assist the Scottish rock band with their bizarre requests.
- Avery Carrington Missions: Help the real estate magnate with his dubious development plans.
- Colonel Cortez Missions: Aid the esteemed Colonel in his various dealings.
- Ken Rosenberg Missions: Your initial contact and lawyer, his missions are crucial early on.
- Asset Missions: After acquiring certain properties, you'll unlock specific missions tied to their operation. These are vital for generating income and are often required for 100%.
Asset Missions & Income Properties
To truly own Vice City, you must purchase and complete all missions associated with the following assets. Each asset typically requires a set of missions to become profitable.
- Print Works: Purchase for $70,000. Complete "Spill the Beans" and "Hit the Courier." This is a crucial asset for generating significant income.
- Sunshine Autos: Purchase for $50,000. Complete all four car lists for the import/export garage. Each list requires specific vehicles to be delivered to the garage in Viceport. This also unlocks races.
- Malibu Club: Purchase for $120,000. Complete "The Shootist," "Cop Land," "Death Row," and "Supply & Demand." This is a major storyline progression point.
- Kaufman Cabs: Purchase for $40,000. Complete "V.I.P." and "Friendly Rivalry." This unlocks the ability to do taxi missions.
- Boatyard: Purchase for $10,000. Complete "Check Out at the Check In." This unlocks boat races.
- Cherry Popper Ice Cream Factory: Purchase for $20,000. Complete 50 "Distribution" missions (selling drugs from the ice cream truck). This is a grind, but essential.
- Pole Position Club: Purchase for $30,000. Spend $300 in the private dance room. No missions, just an investment.
- Film Studio (InterGlobal Studios): Purchase for $60,000. Complete "Recruitment Drive," "Dildo Dodo," "Martha's Mug Shot," and "G-Spotlight."
Side Missions & Activities
These activities are separate from the main story but are mandatory for 100% completion.
Vehicle Missions
- Taxi Driver: Complete 100 fares in a taxi (not necessarily consecutively). You can do this in increments. A good strategy is to steal a taxi and save it in your garage.
- Paramedic: Complete all 12 levels of Paramedic missions. This is best done early in the game on the first island, as the later levels become very challenging with increased distance and patient count. Find an Ambulance and begin.
- Firefighter: Complete all 12 levels of Firefighter missions. Similar to Paramedic, this is easier on the first island. Steal a Fire Truck and start extinguishing fires.
- Vigilante: Complete all 12 levels of Vigilante missions. This involves chasing down and eliminating criminals. A Hunter helicopter or Rhino tank makes this significantly easier, but it can be done with any police vehicle.
- Pizza Boy: Complete all 10 levels of Pizza Boy missions. Deliver pizzas on a Pizza Boy scooter. Be careful not to damage the scooter too much, as it will lose pizzas.
Races
- Street Races (Sunshine Autos): Win all 6 street races unlocked after completing the Sunshine Autos car lists. These include "Terminal Velocity," "Ocean Drive," "Border Run," "Capital Cruise," "V.C. Endurance," and "Trial By Dirt."
- Boat Races (Boatyard): Win all 4 boat races unlocked after purchasing the Boatyard.
- RC Races: Win all 3 RC races: "RC Bandit Race" (Beach near Washington Mall), "RC Baron Race" (Escobar International Airport), and "RC Raider Race" (North Point Mall).
Stadium Events
Win all three events at the Hyman Memorial Stadium, which are only available at specific times:
- Bloodring: Demolition derby event. Available on Monday and Wednesday.
- Dirtring: Motocross stunt course. Available on Tuesday and Thursday.
- Hotring: Stock car race. Available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Collectibles & Stunts
- Hidden Packages: Collect all 100 Hidden Packages scattered across Vice City. Each package grants a cash bonus and unlocks a weapon spawn at your safehouses for every 10 collected.
- Unique Stunt Jumps: Complete all 36 Unique Stunt Jumps. These require precise speed and angle to land successfully. Look for ramps, broken bridges, and other opportunities.
- Rampages: Complete all 35 Rampages. These are timed challenges where you must eliminate a certain number of gang members or destroy vehicles using a specific weapon. Look for the skull icons.
Miscellaneous
- Store Robberies: Rob all 15 stores in Vice City. Simply enter a store, aim a weapon at the clerk, and collect the money. Be prepared for a wanted level.
- Shooting Range: Achieve a "Marksmanship" score of at least 30 at the Ammu-Nation shooting range in Downtown.
Important Notes for 100% Completion
- Save Frequently: Always save your game after completing any significant task, especially before attempting challenging missions or stunts.
- Weapon Spawns: Collecting Hidden Packages will unlock powerful weapon spawns at your safehouses, which can be invaluable for later missions and rampages.
- Vehicle Management: Keep a fast car and a reliable vehicle (like a taxi or ambulance) in your garages for easy access to vehicle missions.
- Patience is Key: Some tasks, like the Cherry Popper Distribution or Paramedic missions, can be tedious. Take breaks if you feel frustrated.
- Explore Thoroughly: Many collectibles and stunt jumps are hidden in plain sight or require careful exploration of the map.
