Driving and vehicle skills are essential for navigating Vice City and completing various missions. The game features a wide array of vehicles, from standard cars to specialized military vehicles and aircraft. Mastering different vehicle types can provide strategic advantages in missions and exploration.

Certain missions and collectibles unlock unique vehicles and spawn points:

  • Checkpoint Charlie: This mission at the Boatyard involves recovering drug packages across the ocean. Completing it rewards $5,000, and an additional $50,000 if all races are completed. The asset then generates up to $2,000 a day.
  • Military Vehicles and Aircraft: Collecting Hidden Packages unlocks spawn points for powerful vehicles:
    • 80 Packages: Sea Sparrow spawns in the rear side of the Vercetti Estate.
    • 90 Packages: Rhino spawns at the Fort Baxter Air Base.
    • 100 Packages: Hunter spawns at the Fort Baxter Air Base and the Ocean Beach Helipad (the latter requires "Keep Your Friends Close..." to be completed beforehand).
  • Love Fist Limo: After completing the "Publicity Tour" mission, where Tommy drives the band's limo while they defuse a bomb, a Love Fist Limo spawn point is unlocked (in subsequent versions only, except PlayStation 4). This mission also rewards $8,000.
