Grand Theft Auto: Vice City features various items and equipment that aid in gameplay, from weapons to vehicles and collectibles. These items can be acquired through missions, purchases, or by finding them hidden throughout the city, providing strategic advantages and progression rewards.

One significant category of items includes Hidden Packages. There are 100 Hidden Packages scattered across Vice City. Collecting these packages unlocks specific rewards:

10 Packages: Body Armor at Ocean View Hotel
20 Packages: Chainsaw at Ocean View Hotel
30 Packages: .357 at Ocean View Hotel
40 Packages: Flamethrower at Ocean View Hotel
50 Packages: .308 Sniper at Vercetti Estate
60 Packages: Minigun at Vercetti Estate
70 Packages: Rocket Launcher at Vercetti Estate
80 Packages: Sea Sparrow spawns in the rear side of the Vercetti Estate
90 Packages: Rhino spawns at Fort Baxter Air Base
100 Packages: $100,000, Hunter spawns at Fort Baxter Air Base (alternatively unlocked after "Keep Your Friends Close..."), and Hunter spawns at the Ocean Beach Helipad (requires "Keep Your Friends Close..." to be completed beforehand).

Specific weapons become available after certain missions. For example, the Sniper Rifle becomes available in Ammu-Nation after completing the mission "Rub Out."

Vehicles also serve as crucial equipment. The Sea Sparrow, a helicopter, spawns at the Vercetti Estate after collecting 80 Hidden Packages. The Rhino tank spawns at Fort Baxter Air Base after collecting 90 Hidden Packages. The Hunter helicopter spawns at Fort Baxter Air Base (and the Ocean Beach Helipad) after collecting all 100 Hidden Packages or completing "Keep Your Friends Close...".
