Hidden Mechanics & Exploits
  • Infinite Water Glitch (Pre-Patch): In older versions, placing a Water Collector directly under a waterfall could sometimes yield infinite clean water. This has largely been patched, but always check for new environmental interactions.
  • Aggro Reset: If a predator is chasing you, sometimes swimming across a deep river or climbing a very tall tree can reset its aggro, allowing you to escape. This is not guaranteed but can be a last resort.
  • Crafting Table Repair: The Crafting Table (Long Sticks + Rope + Palm Leaves) can repair most tools and weapons by placing them in the crafting grid with the necessary repair materials. This is more efficient than repairing in your inventory.
  • Sleeping to Heal: Sleeping in a shelter not only saves your game but also provides a significant boost to health and stamina regeneration, especially if you have a full stomach.
  • Poisonous Mushroom Trick: While most mushrooms are poisonous raw, some can be cooked to remove their toxicity. Experiment cautiously, or consult a guide for safe mushroom identification.
  • Fish Trap Efficiency: Placing multiple Fish Traps (Small Sticks + Rope) in a concentrated area of a river can yield a surprisingly large amount of fish, providing a reliable protein source.

While some 'exploits' might be patched, understanding the game's underlying mechanics can always give you an advantage.
