At the forefront of progression is your character's level. You gain experience points (XP) through various activities: defeating enemies, completing quests, discovering new locations, and successfully crafting items. As you level up, you typically gain attribute points that can be allocated to stats like Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Constitution, directly impacting your character's core capabilities.
