The Skull Tyrant has three primary attacks. The first is a straightforward charge, where it runs directly at the player. This is best dodged by jumping over the boss. Attempting a pogo jump off its skull is ineffective for damage and can be risky.

The other two attacks involve jumping. When the Skull Tyrant jumps, it will cause debris to fall from the ceiling upon landing. There are two variations:

• Jumping Forward: If the Skull Tyrant jumps forward, it will land and cause one or two pieces of debris to fall. This is generally easier to avoid by dashing away from its landing spot.
• Jumping in Place: If it jumps in place, it will typically perform this action multiple times, causing a more concentrated barrage of falling debris. This attack is more dangerous and requires consistent movement to avoid. Dashing underneath it or moving away from its landing zone are viable strategies.
